DK evolved from LMS (Longhope Motor Services) during 2022 this was the brain child of Lee owner and director of LMS this came due to all the project builds the team at LMS had been building for customers and the project they wanted to build for them selves and the need to build a brand with clothing and other merch.

The back story

Back in 2012 Longhope Motor Service became known as LMS it was at this time LMS restoration and off-preparation was launched as a Land Rover specialist, as the years went by we became very busy with restoration and project builds it was in early 2018 that the idea started to form of stopping restorations and continuing with just project builds but this never happened due to demand being so high how ever a change  had begun LMS was seeing more general Land Rover’s through its ever growing work shop and project and restoration were now not just Land Rover specific we were taking on big projects with lots of bespoke built products. 

The Brand

Lee still feeling the need to build a brand and be more specific, this set him to thinking of a logo and name for the new brand but also realised that he wanted to cater for all 4x4s not just Land Rover’s, so DK - Discovery Kings was born.

Why Discovery Kings

This is where Lee got some stick over the name he was asked “I thought you were doing all 4x4s” also “do you not think only doing Discoverys is mad” Lee’s reply was we are doing  all 4x4s not just Land Rover Discovery’s because we want to help people by preparing there 4x4s for expeditions, over-landing and off grid life as well as performance remapping and all other upgrades. This  is why our slogan is prepare for your a ultimate off-road adventure. Lee wants to help people discover the world around them he wants them all to be there own kings of discovery so where can they go to achieve this with there 4x4 - Discovery Kings.

What the future will bring 

Lee hopes that DK will grow its clothing and merch, DK will also be designing and producing its own off-road products and some of it’s own crazy builds which will be blogged about and hopefully you will see DKs very own YouTube channel for every one to follow.
